A traditional multi cache in a lovely Herefordshire village.

A standard multi-cache based in the lovely "Black and White" village of Weobley in Herefordshire.

Weobley is an archetypal English village full of half timbered buidings which features on the "Black and White Trail" (see here , here and here ).

Your walk will take you round the village, to the remains of a Norman castle then out into the countryside. Once you have finished your trek the the village boasts a number of excellent watering holes.

You will gather digits as you walk round the area. These will give you the final co-ordinates in the form N 52 AB.CDE, W 002 FG.HJK The total walk should take around half an hour at most.

The cache is a small tupperware style container with only room for small swaps.

OK, starting at the suggested co-ordinates:

Waypoint 1 at N 52° 09.635 W 002° 52.617

You will be at the village car park. There is a small half timbered building here with a number of blacked out windows (some have two parts but these count as one window).F = Number of blacked out windows minus 1:

Leaving the car park, don't go towards the village centre (you'll see it soon enough) but head up past the pottery (a good place to visit if it's open) and look for the village museum and libray at:

Waypoint 2 at N 52° 09.549 W 002° 52.547

Feel free to visit the museum if it's open or the library which only opens on a couple of days. On Thursdays it's open from H pm to 6pm. There are some public toilets here if you need them. Continue to the gift shop on the corner and turn left past the Salutation Inn then take a small lane on the right to a notice board describing the castle at:

Waypoint 3 at N 52° 09.525 W 002° 52.442

On the notce board you'll see some information about the history of Weobley Castle. Walter de Lacey held the castle from xGyz - pqrs Do some sums now to find y+z=D and p+q+r+s=E Continue into the remains of the castle and take a seat at:

Waypoint 4 at N 52° 09.475 W 002° 52.424

In the time honoured fashion look for the date on the seat 199C. Have a wander around the castle ruins then head back the way you came into the village centre. There's a small garden in the middle of the high street. Here you'll see "Magnus" at:

Waypoint 5 at N 52° 09.548 W 002° 52.467

Here you'll see two dates 2AAA 1BBB Not difficult I know, but as you're here you might as well play the game! Walk to the other end of the garden and check out the bus shelter. There's a commemorative plaque with a date on it. The month is J (That is 12th of J 1937). OK, almost done now. Walk on down the main street to the church which you can clearly see. The impressive spire with its flying buttresses is the second highest in Herefordshire.

Waypoint 6 at N 52° 09.700 W 002° 52.570

Over the entrance is a sundial with a number mentioned twice. This number is K.

Well that's it, you have all the numbers you need now so plug them into your GPS and walk on. It's only about a third of a mile along a wll defined track. At one point the track diverges but keep to the main one and you shouldn't go wrong. It can get a bit muddy and there's a couple of stiles to cross but it shouldn't pose too any problems.

Good luck!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the hiding place becoming totally overgrown by nettles and brambles I've had to place a temporary cache approx 100 metres further along the track from the original location. For the final coordinates take the answer you just obtained and subtract 0.090 from the Longitude (i.e. the "Westings"). This should get you close enough to use your "cacher's eye" to find the hiding spot. The clue has been updated too.
