As the hiding place has been "tidied up" I need to wait for the undergrowth to grow back before re-hiding the box.

A stroll around the pretty village of Dilwyn in deepest Herefordshire.
Thevillage of Dilwyn where I live, is on the Black and White Trail which starts in nearby Leominster. The Black and White Trail is a tour round some of the prettiest villages in Herefordshire. This includes Eardisland along with the neighbouring villages of Weobley, and Pembridge. You can get leaflets about the "trail" from the Tourist information centre in Leominster.

Also nearby is Dunkerton's Cider Mill where you can sample cider made from local apples and a local [url]http://www.mousetrapcheese.co.uk/]Cheesemaking outfit at Monkland.

The cache itself is a 1 litre klick-lock box, clearly labelled and is in the style of the new "Back to Basics" caches. The published coordinates are for the centre of the village where there is ample parking. Just about all the cache is wheelchair friendly although the first two waypoints are actually on the village green so could be slightly difficult. You should manage it though.

The multi-cache takes you for a short walk around the centre of the village and you will get to see everything of interest (there's not much!) Descriptions of the village can be seen on our website so be sure to check it out before your visit. Park in the village centre anywhere convenient, although the pub car park or the Cedar Hall car parks can also be used. I can thoroughly recommend The Crown as a typical village pub which is well worth a visit. Andy, the landlord keeps some good real ales and cider and Claire, his wife does some really good no-nonsense "pub grub". The pub garden usually has a bouncy castle for geokids in the summer and they do welcome dogs inside . If you want further info it can be found from the village website.

Start off by visiting the village green. At the first waypoint N 52° 11.139 W 002° 51.363 you will find our Millenium Stone which contains a time capsule which was first sealed on AB Dec 1999

A few yards along the green at waypoint 2 N 52° 11.135 W 002° 51.385 is a memorial to a very brave Spitfire pilot who sacrificed his life during WWII. Read the sad tale on this plaque. His Spitfire number was P CDEF

Now walk past the Black & White cottages of Karen Court and the pub towards St Mary's church. At the far end of the churchyard at waypoint 3 N 52° 11.257 W 002° 51.395 is an old road sign with an old fashioned spelling of the nearby town of "LEMSTER" which is G miles away.

Retrace your steps and find our village hall - the Cedar Hall at N 52° 11.243 W 002° 51.312. This is the hub of many village activities and is a vital part of our community. Do not follow the arrow directly or you will cross the school field which is not open to the public, follow the road. At waypoint 4 is a seat dedicated to Jim Davies dated 18th H 1999 (Where H is the number of the month Jan=1, Feb=2 etc.)

By now you have all the information needed to find the final cache. Return to the village green and maybe sit on one of the seats while you work it out. The one nearest to Karen Court is dedicated to our oldest inhabitant who lives in one of the cottages there.

It is at N 52 10.CGH, W 002 51.FA(B/2)

The cache is no more than a 10 min walk away and is accessible by car if you are feeling lazy. At the cache site you can see wonderful view across the fields with Weobley church spire visible and in the distance is the steep escarpment of Hay Bluff with the Black Mountains beyond.
