After checking on my nearby terra cache and placing the finishing touches on the caches for CacheaPalooza 3, I decided to hide another terra cache out in the "back 40" area of Jonathan Dickinson State Park.
When I placed the cache (late Nov. '08) the doubletrack trails were relatively dry and recently mowed due to the controlled burn they just had.
This will not always be a true measure of the trails out here. I have seen them quite flooded and over grown at times!
I rode my mountain bike out here and clocked the distance (as the crow flies) at 2.2 miles from parking one way.
Watch out for thorny vines near GZ. The boars have been having a field day so watch the ruts, too.
