The term "RADAR" was first coined by the Navy in 1941 and agreed to by the Army in 1942. The definition given in the first Signal Corps Field Manual on Aircraft Warning Service stated, "RADAR is a term used to designate radio sets SCR (Signal Corps Radio)-268 and SCR-270 and similar equipment".

The SCR-268 and 270 were not radios at all, but for top security reasons were designated as such.

Camp Murphy served as the Army’s top-secret radar training facility from April 1942 until November 1944 to provide research and development resources to the military. As many as 1,000 buildings were constructed for use by a complement of 854 officers and 5,000 men stationed here during this thirty-one month period.

The stages of this cache are all located on the old stomping grounds of this Top Secret Radar Camp. Please us caution when trying this cache because the plants and animals do bite. Plus, the Secret Service is watching you!

You will walk about 3-4 miles and the cache will take about 2 hours to do(If your lucky). I hope you enjoy!

FTF Prize is a "War Department Technical Manual on Radar System Fundamentals" Date April 28, 1944
