Welcome to the first cache in Vanuatu!
This easy virtual cache is located in the centre of capital Port Vila. Coordinates point to a memorial from which you need to collect some information to log your find.
In order to make bogus logs harder, you must convert two digit numbers to capital letters like 10=A, 11=B, 12=C and so on. The resulting six character string is the required password for your log.
First digit: The number of rows of writing on the main plaque.
Second digit: The number of white concrete pillars (about 90 cm height) that surround the memorial.
Third digit: In the upper part of the memorial you see a coat of arms that has some leaves in it. Count the number of fully open (and almost fully open) leaves. It's an odd number.
Fourth digit: The text on the main plaque mentions a country. How many letters there are in the name of that country (as it appears on plaque).
Fifth digit: The last number or letter in the second row.
Sixth digit: Turn around and count the number of stairs that lead to the building opposite of the memorial. It's an even number.
Personally I prefer physical caches, but those need more maintenance than I can provide here. Hopefully this virtual cache encourages locals or more frequent visitors to place real caches to these beautiful islands.
